Smile F3K 1.5m DLG

The Smile F3K is a great discus launched glider from AJ Aeromodels. Like the Snipe it has very high aspect ratio wing, giving it a high launch and a great glide angle. The design shows a strong Snipe influence, employing similar pylon mounted tailplane. Like the Snipe the model flies very well, with high launches and a good speed range.

The wing and tail are beautifully molded from ultra-light spread carbon over a Rohacell 31 foam core. This makes the wing light, accurate, and comparatively tough and repairable if necessary. The lightweight tailplane (horizontal stabiliser) is mounted on a molded carbon pylon, which can be mounted above or below the boom, to the modeller's preference. The fuselage is a very rigid spread carbon molding, with a good sized canopy hatch, aiding the RC installation. The tailboom has an oval cross section to increase stiffness and improve the launch height.

The model is supplied with horns, pushrods, pull cable, torque springs, servo mounting plate and a very nice offset throwing blade. The wings are supplied in thin foam bags but fit nicely in our DLG F3K Wing Bags and the tails in our DLG F3K Tail Bags for greater protection. Although the completeness of the kit and the quality of construction and detail design is excellent there are a few small paint and surface finish blemishes, hence the reduced price. But do not let that put you off, these are still beautiful models and a fantastic bargain.
